Ravens The Buffalo Bills were blown out in Baltimore by a Ravens team that was clicking on all cylinders today. But the Bills were absolutely terrible in all three phases. Here are our five takeaways for the game. How the hell can you stick with Nathan Peterman?I said Nathan Peterman earned the start in the first game of the season after his performance this preseason. I also knew that would be a short-term option with Josh Allen waiting in the wings. After today Buffalo Bills Hats , I don’t know how they keep Allen on the bench in Week 2. The Bills’ offense was absolutely horrendous. They couldn’t get first downs. They couldn’t get a running game. They were called for a lot of penalties. Above all, Peterman could find nothing in the passing game. It was bad. Peterman was bad. The wide receivers were as advertisedWhen I say “as advertised”, I mean awful. Kelvin Benjamin dropped at least two passes, including a Josh Allen touchdown throw that went through his hands and off his chest. They consistently couldn’t find separation, and forced throwaways from both quarterbacks. Charles Clay was a non-factor.Penalties are now a real concernWe gave them a pass after the preseason because they were bad last year in the games that didn’t count but turned it on in the regular season. This year, the penalties kept coming. Pre-snap, post-snap, concentration Buffalo Bills Hoodie , emotion, mistakes... all the kinds of penalties you can imagine. Ten penalties for 100 yards.Pass rush exposedThe Bills were not able to put any pressure on Joe Flacco or Lamar Jackson today. While the Ravens had seven sacks against Buffalo, the Bills had one. Kind of. Tremaine Edmunds stopped Joe Flacco just short of the line of scrimmage on a scramble. Tremaine Edmunds can playThe Bills’ rookie had a great debut, with the aforementioned sack, pass breakups, and a forced fumble. The Ravens may have torched the Bills’ defense, but Edmunds and Matt Milano were bright spots at linebacker. Edmunds was the youngest starting linebacker of the Super Bowl era and he acquited himself well. The Buffalo Bills have downgraded starting quarterback Derek Anderson and starting middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to out for Sunday’s contest against the Chicago Bears. Both players suffered concussions on Monday night against the New England Patriots, and while they both were listed as questionable after Friday’s practice Cheap Customized Buffalo Bills Jerseys , neither player has progressed to the point where he will be able to play on Sunday.Anderson will be replaced in the starting lineup by Nathan Peterman. The second-year quarterback will make his fourth NFL start, and will appear in his eighth regular season game (ninth overall). In 2018, Peterman has completed 13-of-32 passes (40.6%) for 108 yards. He has thrown 1 touchdown and 4 interceptions on the year.Anderson was injured late in the game against New England, absorbing a brutal hit from Kyle Van Noy with less than two minutes remaining. Running back Marcus Murphy assumed that Van Noy would follow him out of the backfield, so he did not attempt to block him, choosing instead to run a short route. Van Noy passed Murphy off to another defender and blitzed Anderson, leveling the 35-year old quarterback and knocking him out of the game. Edmunds should be replaced in the starting lineup by veteran Julian Stanford. The sixth-year man has appeared in 6 games this year for the Bills, and he has mostly appeared on special teams. He has 2 tackles on the season. For his career www.billsfootballauthentics.com , Stanford has appeared in 65 games, making 10 starts. He has 51 total tackles and 4 tackles for loss on his career.Anderson was injured in the first half when he tried to tackle Patriots’ fullback James Develin. The bruising fullback caught a short pass from Tom Brady and turned upfield. Edmunds met him there, but he took the worst of the hit, as his helmet ricocheted off of Develin’s shoulder pads. Edmunds remained in the game, but was replaced shortly thereafter by Stanford.Anderson and Edmunds join Josh Allen (elbow) and Trent Murphy (knee) on the list of players ruled out for Sunday’s game.
